Albert’s Quiet Quest by Isabelle Arsenault

Albert’s Quiet Quest, by Isabelle Arsenault, is about a little reader who just wants to find the perfect place to enjoy his book. He finally spots a nook in the back alley where he can stare at a painting and let his daydreams carry him away.

But… There’s the kids: The bossy kids. The rambunctious and silly kids. The kids who expect him to play, help out, and to be like them. The kids who get in the way of his needed peace and quiet. The NOISY kids.

Albert tries to use his voice to maintain boundaries, but it’s hard being the quiet presence in a group. Finally… he explodes.

The story is told through minimal speech bubble text and Arsenault’s lovely illustrations. This is actually part of a series, including Colette’s Lost Pet, and most recently, Maya’s Big Scene.
